How the data works

How we calculate delivery times

A clear guide to the ranges, service comparisons, privacy rules and update schedule used on Delivery Times pages.

01

Typical range and median

The typical range excludes the fastest 10% and slowest 10% of completed deliveries. The median is the middle result. These are observed results, not a delivery promise.

02

How to read service comparisons

These services appeared in tracking updates for completed deliveries. The times cover the whole journey, not time spent with one service. A listed service did not necessarily carry the parcel for the entire route.

03

Minimum data and privacy

We publish grouped statistics only. We do not publish tracking numbers, status messages or recipient details. Routes with too few completed deliveries are hidden.

04

Updates and caching

Data is updated daily and cached for 24 hours. If the data service is temporarily unavailable, the latest saved result may be shown for up to seven days.
